EP Community: October Writing Challenge

October is one of my absolute favorite months of the year. It’s the time of year when the leaves on the trees start to change to their beautiful fiery colors and then ever so gracefully glide to the ground. The crunch of leaves under your feet, pumpkin carving, pulling out autumn sweaters, warm fires, and s’more making; these are some of the delights of this month. But I think I’m leaving something out...oh yes! Halloween! It’s one of my favorite holidays. I think almost anyone could agree that it’s so much fun to dress up in a costume and then let strangers give you candy… But never mind that. It’s time for our first writing challenge!

So for this challenge, I will provide a list of objects and you must include them at least once in your story. The setting will be one of your own choosing as well as the characters, just be sure to include all of the objects in the list below.

  • A Black Cat

  • A Large Pumpkin

  • A Cup of Apple Cider

  • A Young Child (Ages 3-6)

  • A Scarecrow

  • A Corn Maze

  • Apples

  • Candy

  • A Halloween Mask (Of Your Choice)

  • A Pile of Raked Leaves

So I know this is a pretty diverse list of objects, but I’m sure your stories will turn out great! I’m looking forward to completing this challenge myself!
